We are an artist run, national, nomadic gallery currently based out of NYC. We’ve organized with artists, curators, bands, fundraisers, performers, poets, venues, skate shops, city officials, bars, comic book shops, The University of Florida, Pulp Arts (FLA), Satellite Art Show (NYC), and Good Year Arts (NC) to bring exhibitions to life.
We’re invested in community building and cross-disciplinary experiential event-making because music, skateboarding, poetry, etc is art too. Moisturizer exhibits burgeoning to established working artists from around the US. As part of our curatorial ethos, we always put well known and unknown artists together to keep our curation democratic. We also curate to ensure that all exhibitions include 50% or higher marginalized voices (LGBTQ+, BIPOC, female) to keep our shows discursive.
Moisturizer Gallery was established in 2017 by Dessarae Bassil and Christian Casas in Gainesville, FL. Moisturizer is currently run by Dessarae Bassil and amazing interns and friends that we can not thank enough.
